1.
General characteristics
P10 foam™ manufactured
by DEDIENNE Multiplasturgy® is a rigid polyurethane foam with closed
cells.
Main properties
:
- Very good mechanical rigidity
- Transparency to hyperfrequency waves
- Good performance at high temperature
- Chemically stable
Applications
:
- P10 foam™ is generally used for the manufacture
of radomes and antenna supports.
- Due to its excellent thermal and mechanical
properties, P10 foam™ can also be used for
structural applications such as the core of complex
and composite sandwiches.
- For radio-electric applications, P10 foam™ can
also be autoclave impregnated with a conductive
charge to become MPU foam,
see technical characteristics in our
catalogue for hyperfrequency absorbers.
- P10 foam is easily metallised and can therefore
become a conductor on the surface. See the characteristics
of our CEM metallisation.
2. Physical characteristics
2.1. Structure
P10 foam offers
an alveolic structure made up of small cells. P10
foam can carry inclusions of a max diameter of 3mm,
with a limit of 10 inclusions per dm3.
2.2 Apparent
volumic mass
Grades available
(nominal apparent volumic mass) :
48 kg/m3 , 128 kg/m3, 225 kg/m3,
380 kg/m3.
The tolerance on the apparent volumic mass is +/-15%
for each grade.
N.B. Other grades can be manufactured on request.
2.3. Dimensions
Avajlable in all
machined shapes and all dimensions in blocks of 600x600x200mm
or 300x300x200mm
3. Mechanical characteristics
The constraints
on bursting in ambient temperature compression must
not be less than the following values :
Foam of a density of 48 kg/m3 : arc> 0.5 MPa
Grade 128 kg/m3 : arc> 1.3 MPa
Grade 225 kg/m3 : arc> 3.5 MPa
Grade 380 kg/m3 : arc> 15 MPa
4. Radio-electric
characteristics at f =10 GHz
4.1 Measurement
bank
The control of the
tangent of dielectric constants and dielectric losses
is realised by measuring in a resonating cavity at
a frequency of 10 GHz, with the help of a vectorial
network analyser.
4.2. Grade
48 kg/m3
Dielectric constante
between 1.04 to 1.10
Loss tangent of < 6.20x10-4
4.3. Grade
128 kg/m3
Loss tangent of < 1.96x10-3
4.4. Grade
225 kg/m3
Dielectric constante
between 1.25 to 1.36
Loss tangent of < 2.82x10-3
4.5. Grade
380 kg/m3
Dielectric constante
between 1.40 to 1.73
Loss tangent of < 3.90x10-3
5. Traceability
5.1 Resin
lots
The preparation
of the resin is carried out in a reactor adapted
to the size of blocks of foam to expand. Each lot
of resin manufactured, carries an index in the form
of a letter which is incremented for each new manufacture.
5.2 Foaming
Each foaming carries
an incremental letter for each new foaming campaign,
and also refers to the resin lot used :
Example : Resin lot D ; foaming D/A on 28/05 ; foaming
D/B on 20/06, etc …
6. Certificate of
conformity
Each delivery is
accompanied by a certificate of conformity in line
with reference NFL00-015 to the index in use.
